Helen Ruth Crews, age 85 of Murfreesboro, formerly of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. She was the wife of the late Ernest T. Crews, Jr. and a daughter of the late James and Ada Belle Dooley. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jordan Henderson Frizzell; and two brothers, James and Jerry Dooley.

Survivors include her children, Doris Crews Frizzell and her husband Ken of Murfreesboro, Barbara Crews Karch, Marilyn Crews Hardison, and Paul Thomas Crews and his wife Faye all of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Heather Hardison Keen and husband Sean of Seminole, FL, Jennifer Karch Fleischer and husband Braden of Nashville, Richard Karch, Jr. and wife Ashley of Clarksville, Scott Hardison of Columbia, Chelsey Crews Gibson and husband B.J., Rebecca Runions and husband Michael, and Adam Runions, all of Mt. Pleasant; great grandchildren, Ronin, Jakob, Lexington, Charleston, Cayley, Brynlee, Blake, and Kelsey; nearest and dearest special friends, Karen Pearl and Angela Pope, both of Murfreesboro.

Mrs. Crews had been a longtime member of the Locust Street Church of Christ and most recently North Boulevard Church of Christ, Murfreesboro. She was a seamstress for many years and was a graduate of Secretarial School at Columbia State Community College. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the North Main Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant. Hal Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
