HAZEL T. SPAIN, age 76 of Smyrna died August 18, 2009. She was a native of Davidson County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Spain, Sr. and her parents, Hugh and Lexie Cook Tippit. She was a architect and a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her son, Roy (Krista) Spain, Jr. of Smyrna: brother, Wayne Tippit of Hermitage; grandchildren, Spencer, and Christopher Spain, Khalil Phillips, and Devon Phillips, Jacob, Annabelle, Faith and Alexander Diefenbaugh.
