Hazel Virginia Heath Helton, age 91, of Murfreesboro, TN went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 25, 2014. A native of Rutherford County, and long-time resident of Nashville, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ruby Tipton Heath. Mrs. Helton was also preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Lee Helton who died in 1981. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00PM at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Brother Miles Cothom will officiate. Burial will follow in Mullins Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until the service time on Saturday. Mrs. Helton is survived by her sons, Gary Helton of Hermitage, TN and Michael "Mike" Helton and his wife Teresa of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Kari Zachery and her husband Bryan, Trisha Gonzalez and her husband Emmanuel, Jamie McQuaid and her husband Monty, Jennifer Adams and her husband Ryan, and Jay Helton; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Overstreet and Agnes Kirchler; one brother, Marvin Heath; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Helton was a member of Pleasant Hill Church of Christ. She was retired from Ferro Fiberglass where she worked for many years. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
