HAZEL ELIZABETH DOUGLAS age 66 of Christiana, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday April 16, 2013. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy Lee and Mary Ellen Simmons Smythia. She is also preceded in death by brothers; John Smythia, and Henry Smythia. Mrs. Douglas is survived by her husband of 46 years; Mack Douglas, daughter Maxine Douglas of Christiana, sisters; Louise and her husband Bobby of Christiana, Marie Wheatly of Denver, Mary Weaver of Shelbyville, Joyce and her husband Mike Kelly of Columbia, and brother Eddie Lee Smythia of LaVergne. Mrs. Douglas was a 1964 graduate of Christiana High School and was retired from Samsonite. Visitation will be 11:00am until time of service at 1:00pm Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ron Byers officiating. Burial will follow in Whitworth Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers.
