Hazel Underwood Babb, age 77 of Smyrna, TN, passed away Tuesday March 24, 2015. A native of Cannon County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Willie Mae West Underwood. Mrs. Babb was also preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Roy, and Ivey Gene Underwood, and sisters, Oakley McClanahan, Estelle Gorley, Lillie Victory and five step-brothers and sisters. Mrs. Babb is survived by her husband, Alvin Babb, sons, David Babb of Atlanta, GA, and Dale Babb of Murfreesboro, TN; granddaughter, Amanda Adams of LaVergne, TN, and Melissa Babb of Smyrna, TN; great-granddaughter, Averlyn Adams of LaVergne, TN; brother, Bobby Underwood of LaFayette, TN; sisters, Pauline Thomas of Murfreesboro, TN, and Roberta Underwood of Smyrna, TN, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with burial to follow in Mapleview Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Babb was of the Baptist faith and retired from Federal Mogul in Smyrna, TN.
