REV. HARRY F. NICHOLS age 100 went home to be with his Lord, Thursday Nov. 27, 2008. A native of Cheatham County, he was the son of the late Edgar Bates and Susie Shearon Nichols. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Ruby Jo and J.T. Donaldson of Old Hickory, TN, brothers, Ralph and Alph Nichols both of Goodlettsville, TN, Wayne Nichols of Cookeville, TN, and sister, Marie Harris of Springfield, TN. Rev. Nichols was also survived by 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Rev. Nichols was preceded in death by his wife Agnes Lane Nichols, who died in 2000, daughters, Peggy Ann Summar and Carylon Faye Nobles, and son William (Billy) Frey Nichols. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. W. D. Thomason and grandson, David Donaldson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. Nichols graduated from Coopertown High School in 1927 and was ordained to the Gospel Ministry on the 14th day of September 1947 at Chandler Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet, TN in which he was instrumental in starting. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church and his favorite scripture was Psalm 100. Rev. Nichols served as pastor of Rocky Valley Baptist Church, Chandler Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet, Powells Chapel Baptist Church, Third Baptist, Gladeville Baptist, Stones River Baptist Church in Smyrna, and Barfield Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Eric Egli, Rev. W.L. Baker, Rev. Wendell Price, Rev. Donald Owen, and Rev. Jim Davis. The family would like to thank his extended family, the staff and special caregivers at Boulevard Terrace Nursing Facility, for their love and care.
