Harry W. Marlin, Jr. age 78, of the Buchanan Community, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at his home. Mr. Marlin was a native of the Buchanan Community and was the son of the late Harry W. Marlin and Mary McGraw Marlin. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Mockridge, and a brother Hoyt Marlin.

Mr. Marlin is survived by a son, Harry W. Marlin, III and Shannon of Buchanan; daughters, Vicki Davis of Murfreesboro, and Alyssa Pendergrast and her husband Mike of Readyville, Susie Bolin and her husband Randy of Murfreesboro; a brother, Raliegh Marlin of Buchanan; and sister, Lindy West of Murfreesboro; long-time friend, Betty Marlin of Buchanan; eight grandchildren, Ella and Mason Marlin, Lauren Normand, Michael Pendergrast, Caitlyn, Anna, Blake, and Caroline Bolin; and one great grandchild, Chloe Glaskox.

Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Reverends Jack Carney and Murray Mathis will officiate. Burial will be in the Prater Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Marlin was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He was a 1955 graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School and attended MTSU. He was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield for 35 years before retiring in 1991. He was a member of the United States Naval Reserve.
