Obituary

Harold Thomas, Jr., age 70, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marge Carter Shelby and Harold Thomas, Sr.; and sister, Barbara Gunkelmann.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Thomas; children, Chris Caputo (Dusty), Patrick Caputo (Renata), April Caputo, William Caputo (Lauren), Michelle Billings, Donnie Hartley (Alina), Trina LeBlanc, and Angie Thompson (Eddie); eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother, Stanley Thomas; sisters, Debra Hall, Brenda Calvert, Carol Jones, and Beverly Jurvey; along with many other family and friends.

Most people knew Harold simply as Butch. He enjoyed being outdoors – fishing, camping, and traveling when he could. More than anything, Butch cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.

A proud supporter of the Florida Gators, Butch never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite team. Professionally, he was dedicated and hardworking, spending nearly a decade with Hennessey from 2009 to 2017.

But of all his accomplishments, the one he held dearest was raising eight children-a legacy of love and dedication that we are forever grateful for.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna.
