With his family by his side, Harold Russell Mensior died peacefully in his home on January 29, 2009, at the age of 78. He was born and raised in Clawson, Michigan and graduated from Clawson High School. Harold married Mary Ann Upton in 1950. Harold worked as a machinist for Ford Tractor, LTD Missile Division, and General Motors. At the same time, he was constantly working on an assortment of side businesses to augment his income and started a commercial mower blade business in his home garage. He moved his family to West Bloomfield, MI, where he transformed a simple 1-bedroom cottage into a tri-level home. He became a volunteer firefighter with the Cass Lake Volunteer Fire Department. He moved to Highland, MI, in 1969 where he juggled family, his job at General Motors, his blade business, and service as a volunteer firefighter. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1982, concentrating his efforts on building his blade business. In 1985, he found a permanent home for both himself and his business, National Parts Corp., in Murfreesboro, TN. His hobbies included traveling around the world, woodworking, and hiking. He belonged to the IOF, the Nashville-Franklin BPOE, the SME, and the FMCA. Harold is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Mary Ann, his daughter, Karen, his sons, Kevin, Kim and Kerry, and 12 grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on February 7, 2009, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, 1488 Lascassas Pike, Murfreesboro, at 11:00 AM with informal visitation beginning at 10 AM.
