Harold Joseph Brisbois, Jr. passed away on April 30, 2017, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. Born on September 3, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, Joseph was the only child of Dr. Harold J. and Anna (Von Poppplen) Brisbois. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1951. He enjoyed a full career in industrial engineering with the Ford Motor Company and with Nissan. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Murfreesboro.
Joseph was survived by his wife Marilyn. He is survived by his children, Cathy Brisbois, Richard Brisbois, Mary Hoffman (John), Barb Jensen, Chris Beard (Robert), Cheryl Rubendust (Kurt), Amy Beattie (John), and John Brisbois (Sophia); step-children Julie Mills (Jim), Susan Hundley (Patrick), Betsy Child (Paul Barber), and Nancy Kendrick (Kent); twenty-three grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a son, Harold Joseph Brisbois III, a daughter, Elizabeth Brisbois, and his first wife, Joanna (Walsh Brisbois).
Joseph was a kind soul whose interests in his retirement ranged from working crossword puzzles to playing bridge. He played golf until his legs gave out, and he was a master of genealogical research. He will be missed by all who knew him and admired his sly humor and love of life. A memorial service will be held at a future date.
