Harley H. Irwin, age 97, died Wednesday, November 27, 2013. Mr. Irwin was a native of Knox County and was the son of the late W. S. and Hontie Fox Irwin. Funeral services will be at 1:30PM Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Loyd Mabry and Whit Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Garden with full military honors. Mr. Irwin is survived by his wife of 71 years, Juanita Clark Irwin; sons, Bobby Irwin and his wife Ernestine and Kent Irwin and his wife Brenda all of Murfreesboro; daughter, Ruth Klock and her husband Randy of Henderson, NV; seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Smith. Mr. Irwin was a member of the United Methodist Church. He along with his wife were owners of Irwin Auto Sales. He was a 1940 graduate of the University of Tennessee and was a former member of the University Board of Directors. Mr. Irwin served in the United States Army in the European Theatre during World War II. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
