Obituary

H. Leon Sharber, age 86, after a long and beautiful life, went to his eternal home on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

Leon was the youngest son of the late William Gray and Lottie Lurlene Sharber, born on December 12, 1938 in Triune, TN. A graduate of Rockvale High School, Leon joined the United States Air Force Reserves and later served in the Tennessee Army National Guard. He was an engineer for the Santa Maria Fire Department in California before returning home to obtain his bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University and his Juris Doctor from Nashville School of Law.

In 1972 he began practicing law and soon after became one of the first title insurance agents in the area for Stewart Title Company. He owned Mortgage Title Company in Nashville and later went into practice with his eldest son, Mark, at Sharber & Sharber, Attorneys at Law in Murfreesboro. He served as the City Attorney for Eagleville for some time and continued to practice law in Middle Tennessee for 50 years until his retirement in 2022. He had a unique sense of humor, often joking that one would think after that much practice he should be good at it by now.

Leon was preceded in death by his brothers, Wallace and Harold Sharber, and two of his children, Eva Faith Sharber and Maj. Lee Sharber.

Settling in Lascassas, TN, Leon loved and raised his family well; they were second only to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a member of Centerpointe Apostolic Church in Murfreesboro and is survived by his wife of over 27 years, Nancy Molina Sharber; children, Mark (Gwen) Sharber, Angela (Chris) Simmons, Kenneth (Johanna) Sharber, William Sharber, Rachel (William) Boles, Aaron Sharber, and Jeremy Sharber; grandchildren, Gray Sharber, Edison Shannon, Everleigh Shannon, Orlando Leggs, and Ceré Leggs.

Leon commanded a room with his quiet strength and spoke only when he had something important to say. Always a "thinker," he was well-read in a variety of subjects and well-versed in politics and current events. He loved animals of all kinds, but especially horses, donkeys and mules. He enjoyed planting and harvesting, particularly a good tomato, insisting the acidic ones are best. He found great pleasure in the simple things and a quiet life in the country, but also enjoyed the finer things too. He loved to travel, eat good food, and be surrounded by his family and friends.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be Monday, September 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Kevin Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
