Grace Lane Mingle of Murfreesboro died at home, surrounded by family, on March 24, 2011 at the age of 81. Born May 20, 1929, she was a daughter of the late William Kirg (Dick) Lane, Sr. and Ella Patton Lane. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 AM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Bro. David Young and Joe Mayes officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Mingle is survived by daughters, Pamela (Frank) Pires of Ft. Myers, Florida, Mary (Tim) White of Murfreesboro, and Sissy (Allan) Brandon of Murfreesboro; four grandchildren, Lane and Joe Will White, Bradley and Sara Grace Brandon. She is also survived by her brother, William Kirg (W.K.) Lane, Jr. of Murfreesboro. Mrs. Mingle was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Willard M. Mingle; a brother Joe P. Lane, Sr.; and a sister, Alice Lane Ridley. Grace was a lifelong native of Rutherford County. During the 1960s, after years of being a full-time homemaker, she began a career as a real estate agent, working for Tom Lane of Lane Realty in the Murfreesboro and Smyrna offices. In 1975, Grace became a licensed broker and opened her own company, Mingle Realty, in Smyrna. She sold the company and retired in 1990 after 25 years in the real estate business. She always spoke fondly of the many friends she made while selling properties to those moving in to Smyrna and Rutherford County. Mrs. Mingle was a member of North Boulevard Church of Christ; a member of the D.A.R. of Rutherford County; The Murfreesboro Women's Club, and The Garden Club. During her career, she was a member of the Rutherford County Board of Realtors/MLS. Active pallbearers will be Joe Lane, Johnny Lane, Miles Lane, Paul Lane, Bill Lane, Bradley Brandon, Joe Will White and Adam Booten. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mec Berry, Ed Brandon, Tommy Ensey, Ed and Jane Jordan, Chester Martin, Emmett McCrary, Dick Meadow, Marlou Patterson, Anna Lee Stump, Joe White, and C.W. Williams.
