Gordon Smith McClard, age 87, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edith McClard and brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Alma McClard.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen McClard; son, Tommy McClard and his wife Sarah; daughter, Lynda Michelle DeBerry; grandchildren, Ethan McClard (Shana), Noah McClard (Audrey), Paige Haney (Chase), and Beth McClard; great grandchildren, Inaya and Elijah McClard; sister, JoLinda Watson (Loyd); nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.

Gordon was a United States Navy Veteran and long-time member of Leanna Church of Christ. He worked in construction and well digging for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and strawberry shakes but his favorite thing was being a "Pap" to his beloved grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, September 21, 2025 from 2:00-6:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be Monday, September 22, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Milton Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
