G.N. Messick, age 84, of Murfreesboro, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012. He was a native of Beech Grove, TN and the son of the late Gilbert Newton and Nora Earls Messick. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Carl, Horace, and John Rye Messick, sisters, Novella Messick, Ruth Wiser, Lucille Walkup, and Virgie Bush. Funeral service will be 12noon Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Charles McKnight will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen Armstrong Messick, sons, Michael (Shirley) Messick of Murfreesboro, Dale (Alice) Messick of Summerville, SC, brother, Willie Benton Messick of Manchester, grandchildren, Shawn Messick, Ken (Candace) Messick, Jennifer Messick, great grandchildren, Collier Messick, Dylan Chapman, Amberlyn Messick, Gabriella Messick, and special niece, Elizabeth (Lewis) Wright. Mr. Messick was a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church, a US Army veteran who served in Korea, and a retired Service Station Manager until his retirement.
