GLADYS LAWHORN PERKINS, age 85, of Murfreesboro, died Monday, January 03, 2011 at MTMC. A native of Mattoon, IL., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Sara Fitzpatrick Lawhorn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Kenneth E. Perkins who died in 1991, two sons, Joey (Joy) Perkins and Darrell (Kay) Perkins and ten brothers and sisters. Mrs. Perkins is survived by two daughters; Brenda E. Miller and Carla P. Matheny both of Murfreesboro; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Mrs. Perkins was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Wal-Mart and a volunteer at MTMC. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at WOODFIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Friday at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Mattoon, IL.
