GERRY ANN COOK, age 64 of Murfreesboro died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. She was a native of Rock Island, IL and the daughter of the late Henry A. and Gerry Sanders Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Dan Cook, sons and daughters-in-law, J.D. and Teri Cook of Omaha, NE, Kevin and Denise Cook of Shreveport, LA, brother, Henry Johnson of Rock Island, IL, and three grandchildren, Samantha, Mia, and Brayden Cook. Mrs. Cook attended River Oaks Community Church and World Outreach Church. She was retired from the Department of Veteran Affairs as a billing technician. Gerry was a dedicated Air Force wife who served by her husbands side during his 30 years of active duty service. She was handpicked to be the representative of all Air Force wives world-wide on the Site and Design Committee for the Air Force Memorial located in Washington D.C. She was a strong advocate for all Air Force families and was an active volunteer in Family Services Programs, Wives Club, Child Care Centers, and anywhere she was needed to help Air Force families. She and Dan would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on February 17, 2011. Visitation will be from 3:00 until time of service.
