Mr. Steve Long, age 70, of Lavergne passed away Friday, September 27, 2019. He was the son of the late Hattie Mae and Willie Erman Long. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joe Long.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Remona Long; daughters, Stephanie Palma and her husband Luis, Wendy Gowing; sons; Gerold Steve Long, Jr and his wife Christy, Michael Gowing and his wife Sharon; grandchildren, Caiti and Carmen Long, Alyssa Gowing, Owen Carbajal, Steven, Emily, Joseph, and Rubi Palma; sisters, Virginia Anderson and Linda Long; father and mother in law, Hugh and Rosalie Phifer; and son in law, Omar Carbajal.

Mr. Long spent many years fixing and building things and eventually joined the team at Krispy Kreme, where he retired. In his spare time, he loved to play his guitar and be with his family but most of all, his wife Mrs. Remona.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 PM and again Monday, September 30, 2019 from 12:00-1:00 PM with the funeral service following at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Mapleview Cemetery in Smyrna. Pallbearers will be Larry Covington, Stephanie Palma, Luis Palma, Michael Gowing, Randall Phifer, and Stevie Long.
