Gerald "Jerry" Joseph Malaga, age 69, of Murfreesboro, TN, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 2, 2017. A native of Cleveland, OH he was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Margaret Kapitan Malaga.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 3, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. The family ask you to wear orange in memory of Jerry. Steve Austin and Tony Long will officiate. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2017 in Estes Cemetery in Coalfield, TN with Dean Newkirk officiating.

Mr. Malaga is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Ward Malaga; daughters, Amy Rizzo and her husband, Jeff, and Heather Eminian and her husband, Nick all of Cleveland, OH, and NaTosha Haney and her husband, David of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Isabella Rizzo, Nathan Eminian, Mia Rizzo, Brett Haney, Cayden Haney, and Benjamin Eminian; and brother, Stephen Malaga and his wife, Lois of Murfreesboro.

Mr. Malaga received his Bachelors Degree from Cleveland State University and later served with the National Guard. He was the owner and operator of Southern Environmental Management and Specialities of Nashville.  Mr. Malaga was a member of World Outreach Church. He enjoyed playing golf, watching the Tennessee Vols, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Jeff Rizzo, Nick Eminian, Barry Justice, Steve Justice, Barney Dicky, Ken Lane, and David Kelly will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be made to the American Brain Tumor Association at 8550 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. Ste 550 Chicago, IL 60631, or to the Children's Ministry at World Outreach Church, or to Autism Speaks ATTN Web Gift 1060 State Road, 2nd Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540.

Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
