Gerald Boyd, age 91 of Smyrna died September 16, 2018. He was a native of Warren County and was a member of Smyrna Church of Christ, and a graduate of Irving College High School. Mr. Boyd served in the United States Army and retired from Genesco after 50 years of service.

Mr. Boyd is survived by his children, Dennis Boyd  and wife Mary McRae of Smyrna, Carl Boyd and wife Karen of Smyrna; daughter-in-law, Johnnie Ann Boyd of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Marshall Boyd and wife Hillary of Hendersonville, Michelle Watson and husband Jeremy of VA, Brittany Oliver and husband Jason of Murfreesboro, Adam and Conner Boyd of Smyrna; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Boston Boyd, Griffin, Hattie, Owen and Harper Watson, Ann-Marie and Evelyn Oliver.; brother, Sam Boyd of McMinnville. Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his wife, Mary "Helen" Lentz Boyd ; parents, Marshall and Charlotte Gross Boyd; son, Dr. Phillip Gerald Boyd.

Special Thanks to the staff of NHC Murfreesboro for taking care of Mr. Boyd. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Smyrna Church of Christ.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna. Brother Tim Lavender and Robert Mullins will officiate. Graveside service will be 2:00PM Wednesday at Hebron Cemetery in Warren County. Family will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be 4:00PM to 7:00PM Tuesday at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna.
