Mr. George A. Voorhies, age 81, of Smryna, TN passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in Smyrna, TN. He was a son of the late Lester and Irene Anderson Voorhies. Mr. Voorhies was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Thompson Machinery for 39 years and served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Voorhies is survived by his wife of 47 years, Wilma Voorhies; three children, Debbie Currey and her husband James, Kevin Voorhies, and Kim Bundrant and her husband William; five grandchildren, Brandon Currey and his wife Danielle, DeAnn Hayes and her husband Shane, Brittany Bundrant, Kinsey Bundrant, and Chris Bundrant; and two great-grandchildren, Autumn Currey and Owen Currey. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Graveside service with Military Honors will be held Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 1:00pm at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Murfreesboro, TN.
