George Shupp, age 73 of Murfreesboro, TN, formerly of Gaithersburg, MD, died Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in Nashville. He was a native of Washington, D.C. and was the son of the late Gerald Albert Shupp and Dorothy Agnes Tippett McDougal. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Linda Shupp; sons, Bill Shupp and fiancé Tamara Bowers of Murfreesboro, James Shupp and wife Angie of Windsor, PA; a sister, Sharon Long and husband Harold of Bartlesville, OK; brothers, Bruce McDougal and wife Laurie of Stillwater, OK, Rick McDougal and wife Anita of Jenks, OK; step-father, Robert McDougal of Bartlesville, OK; and ten grandchildren, Jordan Bennett, Kyleigh Bowers, Ava Bowers, Kylie Shupp, Patrick Shupp, Kamryn Shupp, Isabel Bowers, Jessica Shupp, Brooke Shupp, and Cacey Shupp. George enjoyed travelling and often spent weeks every summer road tripping around the United States. He particularly enjoyed camping, fishing, and exploring National Parks. His favorite places included Chincoteague Island, VA and Yellowstone. His grandchildren were very special to him and he loved to sit and cuddle with them, play dress up and nail salon, often times leaving him with pink hair and sparkly toenails afterward. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of memorial services beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro, TN.
