George Louie Gasser, age 80, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011 at his home in Smyrna after a courageous bout with cancer. Mr. Gasser was a native of Nashville. He served in the United States Navy and worked in the building and real estate industry in the Middle Tennessee area for the past 50 years. Mr. Gasser was preceded in death by his parents, George Louie Gasser and Nora Lee Davenport Gasser. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia Miller Gasser; three daughters, Denise Edde and husband Jimmy, Evelyn Justice and Gail Kleiger; two sons, Mike Gasser and wife Martha, Emery Gasser and wife Lydia; one sister, Gwen Miller; one brother, Juan Gasser and wife Wanda; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Woodfin Funeral Chapel in Smyrna.
