George David Davenport, age 75 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024, at his home. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late George E. Davenport and Ada Mae Herrold Davenport. Mr. Davenport was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Ann Davenport Croft.

Mr. Davenport is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rebecca Johns Davenport; sons, Jason Davenport and Cody Davenport all of Murfreesboro, TN; brothers in law, Tony Johns of Wartrace, TN and Sam Johns of Bell Buckle, TN; sisters in law, Vicky Johns Shapcott of Milton, TN, Margie Burns of Wartrace, TN, and Shelby Johns of Murfreesboro, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Monday, December 23, 2024, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday following the visitation with Bro. Bryan Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with family friends serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Davenport was a US Army veteran, a member of Bethlehem Church of Christ, and retired from G.E. after 34 ½ years of service.
