George Nelson Cobb, age 72 of Smyrna died Monday at his home. He was a native of Nashville and was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Cobb, and Kate Allen Cobb Gregory. Mr. Cobb was a member of Life Point Church in Smyrna and a graduate of University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Mr. Cobb was a veteran of United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict and retired Accountant with Bunge Oils. Mr. Cobb is survived by his wife of 50 years, Caren Cobb; sons, Charles Cobb and wife Rhonda of Murfreesboro, Andy Cobb and wife Amy of Illinois; Daughter, Debbie Parker and husband David of Murfreesboro; sister, Betty Jo Rogers of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Adam, Kristen, Jacob, Charlie, Samuel, Noah, Jessica, Morgan; great-grandchildren, Emily, John, Bryson. Graveside service will be 11AM Thursday at Mapleview Cemetery with Military Honors. Pastor Saul Eady, Jr will officiate.
