Gayle Lester, age 73, of Smyrna, TN, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late, Frank W. and Nannie B. Hall. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Brother Ron Caldwell will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Lester is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Simon Lester; son, Samuel H. Lester and his wife Sharon of North Georgia; daughter, Deborah "Debbie" Lester of Spring Hill, TN; three grandchildren, D'Wan Lukes, Danica Lester and Christopher Lichtenauer; brother, Clayton Hall; sisters, Dorothy Nash, Julie Stillwell and Barbara Gilmore; along with many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lester was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a Psychiatric Tech. with the State of Tennessee for 46 years and very dedicated to her job. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her roses. Her hobbies also included crocheting, sewing and cooking. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
