Mr. Gayle Powers Hayes, age 77, of Murfreesboro, passed away October 28, 2015. He was a native of Rutherford County, and son of the late Fred and Lucille Powers Hayes. He was also preceded in death by a brother, James B. Hayes. Mr. Hayes is survived by his wife, Shirley Bowling Hayes; sons, Mike (Pat) Hayes, Bill Hayes, and Bob (Katy) Hayes all of Murfreesboro; and grandchildren, Jake, Addison, & Taylor Hayes. Mr. Hayes was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a former employee of AVCO and Chromolox and was a retired employee of MTSU. He was a 1956 graduate of Rockvale High School. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Dr. Noel Schoonmaker and Pam Pilote officiating.
