Gary E. Hagewood, Jr, age 39, of Smyrna, TN, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna, TN. Bishop Steve Sutherland will officiate. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery.

Gary was survived by his parents, Gary and Anne Blocker Hagewood Sr.; daughter, Kaitlin; seven siblings, Michael (Amy), Ryan, Matthew, Jonathan, Christina, Amber, and Kayla Hagewood; grandmother, Verna Blocker; nephews and nieces, Braydon, Reagan, Brennon, Rylan, Houston, Preston and Madalynn; along with many uncles, aunts and cousins.

Gary was a member of the Smyrna Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a warehouse worker with Ideal Tridon Manufacturing. Gary graduated from LaVergne High School in 1995 where as an avid athlete he played freshman basketball and lettered in baseball his junior and senior years. He was a fan of the Atlanta Braves, Alabama Crimson Tide Football, and enjoyed playing Frisbee Golf and Airsoft Games. Gary loved everyone and had a big heart. He would give the shirt off his back to help someone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
