Robert Gale Gordon, 72, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023. He was born August 23, 1951, in Beechgrove, Tennessee to the late Clifford McCrory Gordon and Clera Jane Burks Gordon. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Clifford Earl Gordon, W.T. Gordon, and Barney Gordon; sisters, Freida Haddix and Sharon Harris.

He is survived by a daughter, Vandy Gordon (Jaste) VanMeter, son, Clint Gordon. Known as "Poppy" to his grandchildren, Alexis (Jake) Edwards, Galelyn VanMeter, Justin VanMeter and Gracie VanMeter; great granddaughter, Blair Edwards; sister, Janie Evalyn Gordon Hillis, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He retired as a general contractor and enjoyed spending time playing music. If it had strings or keys, he could play it. He adored his grandchildren.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to others in need or a charity of choice. Mr. Gordon never wanted anyone to make a "fuss" over him.

Your contagious smile and giving heart will be missed by so many but mostly me. Thank you for teaching us so much, raising us up with love and respect but most of all to love Jesus. You raised me to be strong but in your eyes, I will always be Daddy's little girl.
