Freeland DeWayne Maxwell, age 46 of Murfreesboro died Monday February 20, 2017. He was a native of Murfreesboro and was preceded in death by his father Harvey Wayne Maxwell. Freeland had attended Third Baptist Church and had worked as a Carpenter and Electrician.

He is survived by his son, Dalton Wayne Maxwell of Murfreesboro; mother, Charlotte Maxwell of Murfreesboro; brother, Thomas Houston Maxwell and wife Karen of Acworth, GA; sister, DeAnna Leigh Sledge and husband Joe of Mt. Juliet; nephews, Zachary, Spencer, Richard, Matthew, Eli, and Rhyan; aunts, Darlene Swart and husband John of Bon Aqua, Melissa Newkirk and husband Billy of Christiana. Dalton's mother, Stephanie Smith Maxwell; grandparents, Jimmy and Nancy Smith all of Florida and a host of other Smith family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be to Alive Hospice.

Celebration of Freeland's life will be 5:00PM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. F. Murray Mathis will officiate. Visitation will be after 3:00PM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
