Fred Clark Snell, age 89 of Murfreesboro died July 2, 2015. He was a native of the Barfield Community. Mr. Snell was a member of Farris Chapel United Methodist Church and a 1944 graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School. He also was a 1986 Graduate of Cumberland University. Mr. Snell was retired from U.S. Army. He is survived by son, Fred C. Snell, Jr. (Freddie) of Barifield; brother, Rev. Felix M. Snell of Gallatin; grandchildren, Fred Snell III of Barfield, Matt White of Charleston, S.C., Wesley White of Los Angeles, CA and Kathy Benjamin of Christiana, TN. Live plants or memorials in his memory are suggested to Farris Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Snell was preceded in death by his wife, Annelle Helton Snell and his parents, Felix and Lorene Clark Snell, an infant daughter, Jonelle White; brothers, James Curtis Snell and Williams Woods Snell. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Monday at Farris Chapel United Methodist Church. Reverend Bob Tuttle and Reverend Don Morris will officiate. Burial will follow in Yeargan Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. The memorial service will be at Farris Chapel UMC in Barfield with burial at Yeargan Cemetery.
