She went to business school in Atlanta, GA before she started working for the Fulton County Board of Education with physical education classes.
In 1962, she moved to Murfreesboro where she got to be a stay-at-home mom. Mrs. Eubanks enjoyed being a room mother when her children were in school. She started out volunteering at Mitchell-Neilson Elementary helping students read. Baxter Hobgood hired her to be an educational assistant at Bradley Academy then Mitchell-Neilson Primary in the kindergarten class. Eventually, Mrs. Eubanks moved into the office as the secretary/bookkeeper at MNP. She spent a total of 39 years with the city school system, most of that time was at what she called “her little school” – Mitchell-Neilson Primary. Mrs. Eubanks loved working with the students at MNP, especially when they asked her to do the “Hokey Pokey.”
Mrs. Eubanks gave back to the community working with Girl Scout and Boy Scout Troops. She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church for over 60 years and was involved with the Woman’s Club. She was an avid fan of MTSU football and basketball and had season tickets for over 50 years.
