Frances Harrell Van Hook, age 92 of Lavergne passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015. She was a native of Rutherford County and the daughter of the late William Newton and Margaret Fergus Harrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Houston Ligon Van Hook. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Josh Pappas will officiate. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery. Mrs. Van Hook is survived by her stepdaughter, Amy Jo Smith and her husband Mitch, nieces, Wanda Hamlett Williams and her husband Billy, Swan Smith Fugol and her husband Tony, Nancy White Potts, Sue Chapman and her husband Steve, Sue Harrell Smith and her husband Alan, nephews, Charles W. Hamlett and his wife Ruth, Jack P. Hamlett and his wife Nancy, Clyde Steve Smith, Thomas H. White and his wife Maryanne and Dr. Frank P. Harrell and his wife Valerie. Mrs. Van Hook was born and reared in Lavergne, TN, she was a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII, and later an accountant for the Davis Clothing Shops in Nashville. A lifelong member of the Lavergne Church of Christ, she was a thoughtful and caring person, who loved helping others. Active Pallbearers will be great nephews, Perry Hamlett, Charlie Hamlett, Bennie Hamlett, Barry White, Jimmy White, Sonnie Potts, Jerry White, Tom White, and cousin, Michael Steinmetz. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Barrett, Julian Murphy, Howard Montgomery and the Elders and Deacons of Lavergne Church of Christ.
