Frances Montgomery, age 87, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at her home in LaVergne, TN. She was born on July 28, 1930 in Davidson County, TN to the late John and Ruth Phillips Paul. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Montgomery, brothers, Jim Paul, Howard Paul and sister, Rachel Thomas.

Funeral service will be 1:00pm Wednesday at LaVergne Church of Christ, 244 Old Nashville Hwy, LaVergne, TN with Josh Pappas and Zachary Bannister officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Howard Montgomery, daughter, Melissa Bannister and her husband Jr of LaVergne, three grandchildren, Zachary Bannister and his wife Jessi of Smyrna, Jade Cazares and her husband Pablo of Chicago, Jeffrey Bannister of LaVergne, three great grandchildren, Kaylee, Keegan and Easton Bannister, sister, Roxie St Cyr of Westbrook, Maine, brothers, Cecil Paul of LaVergne, Philip Paul of Columbia.

Mrs. Montgomery was born on a farm in Antioch, TN which is now known as the Hickory Hollow area. After graduation her first job was as a secretary with Cutters Exchange Furniture Company in Nashville. She spent her life staying busy and was involved in many church and community activities. She was a great hands on influence not only to her children and grandchildren, but the lives of numerous children. She had a special place in her heart for them. Her last and favorite job was working at Tuesday School with the children where she worked for approximately 28 years.

She was a member since 1949 at the LaVergne Church of Christ. Honorary pallbearers are the Elders and Deacons of the LaVergne Church of Christ.

Mrs. Montgomery had an extended illness which kept her homebound. She was cared for by family and a wonderful team of people from Kindred Care Hospice of Donelson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tuesday School at LaVergne Church of Christ, 244 Old Nashville Hwy, LaVergne, TN 37086.
