Frances "Sister" Denny, of Smyrna, TN, left this world November 1, 2015 at 9:40 a.m. at the age of 95. Frances was preceded in death by her father and mother; a stepmother; and her sister and brother-in-law. She is survived by her nephew, Walter Denny Hoover and his wife Judy; two nieces, Sue Margaret Hoover and Jean Hoover Ross and her husband Jim; along with many great nephews and nieces. Frances was a native of both Nashville and Smyrna. She was an Aviation Machinist's Mate in the United States Navy and was one of Rutherford County's oldest living military females. She was a member of the Rutherford County DAR and at time's hosted meetings in her home. Frances graduated from Sullins Jr. College in Bristol, VA. She owned her own Travel Agency in Ft. Myers, Florida for many years before moving back to Smyrna. Frances worked at the Sam Davis Home for many years. She will be greatly missed by all. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Mapleview Cemetery.
