Flora Sue Brothers Powell, age 88, of Fosterville, died Friday, June 17, 2011. Mrs. Powell was a native of Fosterville and was the daughter of the late Burl and Bell Coursey Brothers. Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Bud Powell who died in 1984. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Bro. H.A. Beasley and Bro. Darryl Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in the Smotherman Cemetery at Midland. Mrs. Powell is survived by two sons, James D. Don (Evelyn) Powell of Shelbyville and Tommy R. (Lucy) Powell of Midland; four grandchildren, Tommy R. Powell Jr. and Buford N. (Dawn) Powell both of Crescent, Barry G. Powell and Paula Gann both of Shelbyville; and six great grandsons. Mrs. Powell was a member of the Fosterville Church of Christ. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
