Fletcher C. Barrett, age 84, of Smyrna, TN, died Monday, November 13, 2017. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Richard and Jennie Bowling Barrett. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, James Barrett and John Barrett; and sister, Alberta Kennedy.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Father Jacob Dio will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Peggy King Barrett; step-son, Marty Edwards and his wife Manda of Murfreesboro; brother, Glenn "Butch" Barrett and his wife Jane of Rockvale, TN; grandchildren, Patrick Edwards and his wife Jessica of LaVergne, Lindsey Edwards, Riley Edwards, Jordan Edwards and Khiya Edwards all of Murfreesboro, Randall Barrett II and his wife Michalina of Smyrna; great-grandchildren, Rico Barrett and Lila Barrett of Smyrna; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

He attended St. Luke Catholic Church and was a retired automobile mechanic with Alexander Ford. Mr. Barrett was an avid fan of UT Football and loved the Atlanta Braves. He also enjoyed doing yardwork.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials in memory of Mr. Barrett can be made to the St. Luke Catholic Church Building Fund or to a charity of your choice.

Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
