Everett M. Adkins, age 91, of Destin, FL, formerly of Smyrna, TN, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021. A native of DeKalb County, Tennessee he was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Floyd and Sallie Mae Mason Adkins. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Veronica Ostendorf Adkins.

Funeral Services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Pastor Pat Hood will officiate. A graveside service will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in DeKalb County Memorial Gardens with full military honors.

Mr. Adkins is survived by his three sons, Tony Adkins and his wife Donna of Destin, FL, Dan Adkins and his wife Tracy of Spring Hill, TN, and Marc Adkins and his wife Connie of Smyrna; sister, Glenda Watson of Hendersonville, TN; eight grandchildren, Shawn Adkins and his wife Nichole, Aimee Adkins, Jason Adkins and his wife Rachael, Bailey Adkins, Camryn Adkins, Adam Adkins and his companion Lisa Rasmussen, Amber Loudon and her husband Jason, and Lindsey Nicholas and her husband Dustin; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Eli, Owen, Michaela, Nya, Leighton Everett, Lennox, Ledger, Paxton, Noah, Natalie, Hayden and Thatcher.

Mr. Adkins was a member of LifePoint Church in Smyrna, TN. He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force where he was later retired as a Master Sergeant after 23 years of service. Later, Mr. Adkins worked in security at Peabody and later at Reichold Chemical before again retiring after several years of service.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
