Evelyn Todd Smith, age 95, died Monday, April 15, 2013. Mrs. Smith was a native of Rutherford County and was daughter of the late Palmer Dexter and Bertha David Todd, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husband Clark Smith who died in 1993. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Rev. Don Herron will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Smith is survived by a niece Virginia Ann Faulkner, and a nephew Ed Todd, Jr. both of Murfreesboro. She was a second mother to the children of the Rev. Archie and Mary King that include Dennis, Claude, Phil, Avery, Keith King, and Marsha Flinn. Mrs. Smith was a member of River Rock Baptist Church and was the first female Air Craft Inspector at Vultee during WWII. She was an employee of Rutherford County Health Department and beloved local poodle groomer. She was a charter member of the Bethlehem Market Place presented by Southeast Baptist Church.
