Eve G. Spera, age 73, of Readyville, TN, formerly of Pikeville, TN and Philadelphia, PA, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014. A funeral mass will be held Monday at 11:00AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Mrs. Spera's nephew Father Domenic Rossi and Father Mark Nolte will officiate. A luncheon will be held at the conclusion of the funeral mass in the Jo Call Room at St. Rose. A private graveside will take place at a later date. Mrs. Spera is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, John S. Spera; daughters, Gina Harrison and her husband Steve of Murfreesboro; Grace Miller and Victoria Spera both of Readyville; sister, Belinda Stafford of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, John McBride of Philadelphia, PA, Cate McBride of Murfreesboro; and John Michael Spera and Sean Cross both of Readyville; and one great grandchild, David McBride. Mrs. Spera was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Rice Mueller and step-father, Charles E. Mueller; father, Alton Pollard; son, John S. Spera II; sister, Frankie Sherril; brother, Joe Pollard; and grandchild, Brandie Harrison. Mrs. Spera was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She loved the written word and was an avid reader. She enjoyed quilt-making and sharing those works with those she loved. She was also an accomplished seamstress. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00PM to 6:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 5:30PM.
