Eugenia "Gene" Crumpton, age 89 of Smyrna, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2025.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, June 7, 2025 at St. Luke Catholic Church, Smyrna from 10:00am until the time of a Memorial Mass beginning at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Nashville at 12:00 noon under the direction of Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Smyrna.

Survivors include her children, Jack Crumpton Jr. of Smyrna, Marian Watson and husband Brad of Rockvale, TN, Michael Crumpton and wife Jackie of Lewisburg, TN, Christopher Crumpton of Smyrna, Thomas Crumpton of Nashville, TN, and Bonnie Gillespie of Knoxville, TN; a sister, Marian Teague and husband Bob of Easley, SC; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends including special friends, Ann and Clarence Strode.

Gene was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Crumpton Sr; a daughter, Patricia Crumpton; her parents, Joseph Henry and Mary Keith; brothers, Joseph and Thomas Keith; and a sister, Julia Loftis.

A native of Greenville, SC, she was a 1953 graduate of Greenville High School and graduated as a registered nurse from Greenville School of Nursing. She later went on to retire from Vanderbilt Hospital in 2013 at the age of seventy-seven. One of her greatest joys was her bi-weekly lunch ladies group known as the YaYa's.
