EUGENE ABBOTT CRUM, age 93 of Smyrna TN died Wednesday September 22, 2010 after a brief illness. He went to meet the Lord at his daughters home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 10, 1917 in Ray Illinois and was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Peggy Powell Crum who died April 17, 2009, a grandson, Roger Lavell Crum and his parents, Lucias and Millie Abbott Crum. Mr. Crum was a member of Smyrna First Free Methodist Church and former members of Northside Nazarene Church, Evangelical Covenant Church, Sandwich Church of Nazarene, and Emmett First Church of the Nazarene. He was a World War II Army Veteran and was a retired Teacher and Coach. Mr. Crum taught and coached at Emmett High School, Greenleaf Academy,Plano High School, and several others. He is survived by; daughters, Dixie Lindblade and husband Paul of Texas, Pam Johnson and husband Jim of Smyrna, Debra Crum of Minnesota; sons, Robert and wife Aleta Crum of Oklahoma, Gary Crum of Minnesota, James Crum of California; grandchildren, Christy Terrel, Philip Lindblade, Andrew Lindblade, Robyn Biles, Allison Lindblade, Stephen Lindblade, Glen Lindblade, Greg Crum, Brenda Grogan, Leah Conrad, Tracy Ames, Neil Crum, Kari Leonard, Jami Geselle, Krista Phillips, Nick Johnson, Joel Reed, Jason Reed; 37 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2:00PM Sunday at Smyrna First Free Methodist Church with Ricky Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery, with Military Rites Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna 459-3254
