MRS. EUDIE JOSEPHINE SMITH SLEDGE age 101 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Wednesday May 21, 2008. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Edna Parilee Smotherman Smith. Survived by sons and daughters in law, Charles William and Marie Sledge and Benny and Linda Sledge, daughters and sons in law, Louise and Wilburn Westbrooks and Betty and the late E.N. Brown all of Murfreesboro, TN. Ten grandchildren, 12 Great-grandchildren and 12 Great- Great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11:00AM Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Eddie Smotherman and Doug Mason officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Sledge was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and was married to the late John Ervin Sledge who died in 1980. Mrs. Sledge was preceded in death by brothers, Brannon, B.T., Felix, and Monroe Smith and sister, Naomi Roden. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.
