Ethel Carr, age 79 of Murfreesboro, died Friday, January 9, 2015. She was a native of Hanover Township, Beaver, Pennsylvania and the daughter of the late Walter Scott and Ethel Morgan Brooks. She was also preceded by her husband Thomas Carr on December 21, 2014. Mrs. Carr is survived by daughters, Debbie Carr of Ft. Jones, CA, Karen Carr, Kim Luther and her husband Brad all of Murfreesboro; sons, Tim Carr and his wife Pam of Dickson and Tom Carr of Columbia; five grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends. Mrs. Carr was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church. She had a passion for classical music, studied and taught piano, and served several churches as a pianist and organist throughout her life. Mrs. Carr was an avid gardener and loved camping and traveling across the U.S. Visitation will be Monday, January 12, 2015 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm and Tuesday 9:00 am until the time of services beginning at 10:00 am at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Dr. Jim Clardy will officiate. Burial will be in the Garden of Memory Memorial Cemetery in McMinnville and family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Blackman Middle School Band, 3945 Blaze Drive, Murfreesboro, TN 37128 c/o David England or John Hearnes.
