Esther Lou Nichols Young, age 79, of Murfreesboro died Sunday, December 15, 2013. She was born in Dickens, TX and was a native of Plano, TX until 2006. She was the daughter of the late Brent L. and Carrie Hill Nichols of Lubbock, TX. Funeral service will be 10:00am Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Bro. Herb Alsup will officiate. Interment will be with her late husband, Lynn Dale Young, at 2:00pm Thursday at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Pegram, TN. She is survived her children, Jana Young Akers of Murfreesboro, Michael B. Young of Plano, Texas, Kimberly Young Dygowski of Charlotte, NC,; sister, Janis Johnson of Idalou, TX; brother, Jerry Nichols of Lubbock, TX; sons-in-law, Thomas Akers, Lauren Dygowski; daughter-in-law, Cyndi Bowen Young; grandchildren, Preston and Storey Akers, Brent and Paige Young, Daniel, David, John, and Joy Dygowski. Mrs. Young was a follower of Jesus, a member of North Blvd Church of Christ and previously served at Waterview Church of Christ in Richardson, TX for 43 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, homemaker, Bible School teacher and friend to many. She worked in real estate in the Dallas area for 25 years. Mrs. Young was a resident of NHC in Murfreesboro, TN since 2008. Her bright wit and joyful, loving spirit will be greatly missed by the many lives she touched.
