Estelle Gibson Butler, age 84, of Beech Grove, Tn., passed away to be with the lord December, 9 2009 at Raintree Manor in McMinnville, Tn. A native of Rutherford Co. she was the daughter of the late Rollie Lee and Ola Orren Gibson. She is also preceded in death by her husband Carl Butler, six brothers; Hushel, Carl, Hall, Osnee, Willie Paul and Frank Gibson and three sisters; Margaret Lamb, Altie Bowen and Lindel Alcorn. Services will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Randall Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. She is survived, loved and greatly missed by her daughter Nancy Cunningham of Beech Grove, TN., two grandchildren; Christy Hudson and George Hudson III both of Beech Grove, two great grandchildren; Nichole (Dallas) Rife of Manchester, TN. and Nina Lowe of Beech Grove, one great great grandchild; Brooke Green of Manchester, TN., sisters; Monema Hudson of Mile City, Montana, Schrene Statum of Shelbyville, TN., Anna Murtice Flournoy of Brunswick, GA., one brother; Edmond Gibson of Murfreesboro and 27 nieces and nephews. Mrs. Butler was of the Baptist faith. She was retired from the Methodist Board of Disipilship of Nashville (The Upper Room) where she resided for 50 years.
