Ernestine H. Fergus, age 88, of LaVergne, TN died Wednesday, February 5, 2014. A native of Rutherford County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Wilson and Celese V. Paul Hartman; husband, George Gray Fergus; and brother, Paul Hartman. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Saturday at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Brother John Gary Williams and Brother Jerry Maxwell will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Fergus is survived by her son, Donnie Fergus and his wife, Teresa, of LaVergne; sister, Dorothy Swang of Antioch; grandchildren, Amanda McAlister and her husband Tim of Gallatin and Amber Fergus of LaVergne; nephews, Jason and Price Hartman; and five great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fergus was a member of Gilroy Church of Christ. She was a 1943 graduate of Smyrna High School and was a retired manager of the Credit Union with Tennessee Farmers Co-Op. Mrs. Fergus loved to sew and work out in her yard, especially gardening. Jason Hartman, Price Hartman, Jamie Hartman, Ben Ed Paul, "Bubba" Paul, David Neergaard, Webster Gilcrease, and Tim McAlister will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM and Saturday from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
