Obituary

Erline M. Jennings, age 98, died Sunday, December 23, 2012. A native of Milton, TN she was the daughter of the late James E. Jennings and Rosa Malinda Youree Jennings. She is survived by her cousin, Candace Dunham of Nashville. Funeral services will be at 1:00PM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro. Brother Ron Caldwell will officiate. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery. Miss Jennings was a devoted member of the Church of Christ and was a retired teacher from Metro Schools. Her professional memberships included Business and Professional Womens Club of Nashville since 1945, Metro Nashville Retired Teachers Association, and Delta Kappa Gamma Society. Over the years, Miss Erline was awarded six Honorary Service Awards from the Red Cross for her volunteer work at Park View Hospital. She served as Chairman of Volunteers at Park View for several years. In 1990, she was nominated for the Mary Catherine Strobel Volunteerism Award. As a result of her nomination, Erline received a congratulatory letter from Judge Barbara N. Haynes. She was awarded the 1990 AARP Retired Teacher Award for service to that organization. In 1988 she received the honor of University Founder from David Libscomb University, In recognition of timely contributions to the cause of Christian Education. Erline was presented a Distinctive Service to Education award. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until the service time Thursday at 1:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro. 615-893-5151
