Eric "Billy" Hatfield, age 56 of Smyrna, passed away at his home. He was born in Orleans, France and was a son of the late Bill Hatfield and Frances Hatfield who survives him.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, Alan Hatfield; a sister, Virginia Monroe; nieces and nephews, Charles Wayne Monroe, Christopher Shannon Monroe, Taylor Tansil, and Misty Marie Hatfield; great nieces and nephews, Tyler Ian Monroe and Zoe Monroe.

Billy was a heavy equipment operator by trade and enjoyed many hobbies. He was a talented woodworker, created hundreds of model cars, and as a good friend and neighbor he was always willing to help others with their home and car repairs.
