Ellen Stokes, 84 of LaVergne died Sunday July 7, 2013. She was a native of Pickens County South Carolina and was preceded in death by her husband, Theron Stokes, parents, Oscar and Leora Bell Alexander. Mrs. Stokes was a member of Woodbine Baptist Church and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Linda Harwell and husband Jim of Smyrna, Julie Davis and husband Shannon of Alabama, Tom Yeargin and wife Tina of Georgia; grandchildren, Melissa, Stephanie Harwell, Zachary Cox, Lindsay Dixon, Erin and Sam Yeargin; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Nadia Dixon; sisters, Martha McAbee, Sue Cox both of South Carolina; brother, David Alexander of South Carolina. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Stokes to Woodbine Baptist Church, 29 Whitsett Rd, Nashville, Tennessee 37210 Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Ben McGinnis officiating.
